ECIM is a foundation established with the purpose to strengthen the focus and competence within IM for professionals. One of the main tasks is fascilitating processes that will improve methodology measuring business value and identifying best IM practice for the E&P Industry.
ECIM was established in 2002. StatoilHydro, NPD and Schlumberger was the three main sponsors which also formed the Management Committe inclusive repreantatives from ConocoPhillips and Landmark. Initially ECIM was organized as a Project Group with formal and administrative support from the Norwegian Computer Association (Dataforeningen). In 2006 ECIM Project was organized as a formal and indenpendant foundation.
ECIM is primarily a fascilitator for processses, projects and tasks in order to improve and develop competence and best practice towards the E&P Industry. ECIM is an instrument for the industry to operationalize and manage Information Management processes and networking. A typical task executed and managed by a dedicated resource group within ECIM, was the development process and operationalization of the Information Management Study Program at the University of Stavanger.
ECIM IME Workgroup invites to a workshop focusing on licence lifecycles. Date is not confirmed. Invitation will be sent out when date and program is settled.
ECIM E&P Annual Conference and User Meeting held in Haugesund has become the most important conference for petroleum data management and information management in the E&P industry. The 2011 conference was again successful with more than 300 satisfied attendees representing over 100 companies and 21 countries. Please find more info about the 2012 conference here.
