Industry Updates Session - Monday 16th.


The 'Industry Update Session' was new in 2018 and was very well received by the attendees. Therefor we will repeat this also for 2019. For this session we have invited representatives from the vendors to share their plans and new developments that can bring new value for the industry. The session is held in the plenary room next to the exhibition area.


The Industry Updates Session begins monday afternoon September 16th. at 15:00 and ends 18:00.

Each presentation lasts max 20 minutes with a break / Q&A session of 5 minutes pluss 5 minutes break until next presentation starts. You are free to drop in or out during the 5 minutes break before every half and full hour i.e. 15:25 and 15:55 usw.

15:00  Maintaining Accuracy in Geodetic Data Management

Today, we have access to technologies that heighten our confidence in the spatial integrity of the data but that may give rise to a false sense of security and complacency in our data management practices. In this presentation we will explore the mechanics of geodetic transformation and the potential consequences of erroneous settings and parameters.


15:30  Putting ROV video on the map!

There are thousands upon thousands of hours with video data from seabed and inspections using remotely operated under¬water vehicles. Storage, retrieval and readability of the video is a challenge. Most seem not to have a full overview of their videos and have no or insufficient processes in place to ensure they can read it or that the media carrier is suited for long term archiving.


16:00  Volve Pilot Project

The operator Equinor, together with the Volve licence partners, decided to disclose all subsurface and operating data from Volve in 2018. This presentation demonstrate how vast amount of data from a field can be accessed, visualized and analyzed through the same web based application.

Data licensed from multi-client companies has traditionally been delivered to the customer as a copy of the data purchased.  With operators moving to the cloud, benefits can be realized through delivering access to the data instead of a copy of the data.

17:30  Discover, Act and Automate across a multi-application environment
- Jamie Hisee, Business Development Manager, Interica
E&P companies have varied geoscience application portfolios that can now live across multiple on premise and cloud environments. Interica will present on their journey to discover data across these multi-application environments, identify data issues, act on these and automate these processes for future use using ML and AI routines through partnership with Microsoft Azure.
