Travel tips and more

Do I need a Visa for Norway?

Use this link (official web site) to check if you need to apply for a Visa. If your visa application need a letter from ECIM please contact lg@ecim.no.

What can Haugesund and the area offer?

This area is a very old part of Norway with a rich history dating back to the Viking era and earlier. See this short movie to get inspiration for what to experience.

Hotel Accommodation

Typically, all attendees stay at the same hotel, Hotel Maritim, where breakfast is included in the hotel accommodation price and lunch and dinner during the conference period are included in the attendee fee. Hotel rooms are booked as part of the registration process for the conference.

Lunch and Dinner

Lunch and dinner (Tuesday and Wednesday) and afternoon snacks (Monday and Tuesday) are included in the attendee fee. This provides excellent networking opportunities!

How to get to and from Haugesund

By air:

The airport is called Haugesund Lufthavn Karmøy and is located 20 minutes by car from Haugesund city. The airport has direct flights to/from Oslo and Bergen, please see https://flyhau.no/en/destinations .

From Stavanger:

From Stavanger it is easiest by car or bus. The travel time is approx. 1 hour 40 minutes with beautiful scenery.

- Bus schedules are located at this link

- Direct link to current bus companies: Nor-Way, FlixBus and Vy

See the blog https://www.erdetmulig.no/edm2026.php for the scenery.

From abroad:

Either fly into Stavanger (which would be my preferred choice for the very scenic drive to Haugesund), or into Bergen or Oslo and then fly to Haugesund.
